PK's Implement Challenge

I've come to the conclusion that the people who have the biggest collections are those who have been 'gifted' implements by fellow bloggers, a sure way of feeling their friends' love.

My collection is tiny in comparison but it just goes to show what an angel I am.

Guess which ones I like best?

Harry made the wooden paddle, so I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love it because he made it specially and hate it because "wood is no good." The long one in the middle is an evil rubber thing described online as a flogger. It hasn't been near my bottom and that's the way I'd like it to stay. The one in the photo is a replacement. Harry received the despatch message for the original one whilst we were away on holiday, so expected it to be on our doormat when we returned. It wasn't, so he checked the tracking information which showed it had been left in the porch. None of our neighbours had taken it in so we could only think it had been stolen. We laughed so much at the thought of the thief opening that parcel. We're still awaiting the blackmail letter.

If it's Sunday it must be...

Meredith, over at New Twist, recently came across an article that had the answer for those long-married couples who were lacking in love making and affection. The solution was to make a love appointment for Wednesdays - humping on Hump Day. Meredith had a better idea; they should try ttwd instead. I entirely agree with her that being spanked by your husband sets the world of love making on fire. Only recently, Harry commented that we were having some of the best sex of our lives. The sexy benefits of ttwd are undisputed.

I can't knock 'calendar sex', though. I've been there, when life got in the way of intimacy. There was a time, a few years back, when Harry and I were both working long hours in demanding jobs and seemed permanently tired and stressed. There was no shortage of affection between us; we still kissed and cuddled, I still fell asleep each night with his right shoulder as my pillow but, too often, love making fell victim to exhaustion.

One Sunday morning, we were sitting up in bed watching the TV news. Harry had an arm around me, absently stroking my shoulder. As I snuggled into him, I realised we hadn't made love for nearly two months. We knew it had been a while but we were shocked it had been that long. After we'd brought that particular drought to an end, I asked what Harry thought of setting aside a particular time for making love, so that it didn't get lost in the chaos of life. He wasn't keen on the idea, thinking that losing spontaneity would make it feel forced or clinical. After another month in the desert we decided to try it, choosing Sunday afternoons, as that was the quietest time of the week. We didn't physically mark it on the calendar, of course, nor did we set a specific time. The next Sunday afternoon, I dressed provocatively, put on my highest heels and sashayed into the sitting room, beckoning Harry to follow me upstairs. Needless to say, he loved that.

Harry's misgivings proved unfounded. Far from feeling forced or clinical, it gave us something to look forward to. The anticipation was a great build up - if it was Sunday there'd be good loving in the afternoon. We had a lot of fun. I particularly enjoyed "seducing" Harry, sometimes mixing it up by  sending him a saucy text or a naughty photo. I know! Sexting at my age, whatever next!

Our first spanking took place on a Sunday afternoon, as did many that followed. By that time, our afternoon trysts had brought our love life back from the dead, restoring our lost libido and bringing back spontaneity. The introduction of ttwd also added a whole new dimension. There was no longer any need to put sex on the calendar.

Nevertheless, if you were to walk past our house on a Sunday afternoon, it's still likely that our bedroom curtains would be drawn. If the windows were closed too, that would be a sure sign of the MFL being preceded by a GBW (Good Bottom Warming). It may be scheduled but, to me, that's still pretty hot. I'm sure it's not for everyone but we have no plans to take our Sunday afternoon love appointments off the calendar any time soon.

Thanks, M.

About Me

Harry and I haven't spent much time at home during the last couple of weeks. We've had a holiday in Spain and a visit with our elder daughter and her partner in the West Country. There's been enough spanking to keep me on my toes but nothing out of the ordinary.

So, what to blog about? Erica Scott has dusted down an old meme, which Ronnie and Eva have already borrowed, so I thought I'd have a go too. If I knew how to link to their blogs, I would but I'm still a newbie here and can barely find my way around my own site.

Here goes...

1. If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be?
    Malala Yousafzai.

2. Do you sleep with or without clothes on?
    Without.

3. Ever had a poem or a song written about you?
No, but Harry has written some very poetic lines in celebration cards.

4. Do you have any strange phobias?
    Snow, I can't bear it.

5. Ever stuck a foreign object up your nose?
    No.

6. What's your religion?
    None.

7. If you are outside, what are you most likely doing?
Pottering in the garden - but not weeding the borders!

8. When was the last time you played air guitar?
    Never done it.

9. How do you vent your anger?
I control my temper now but a long time ago, when I was angry with Harry, I took a
box of china that was destined for the Scouts' jumble sale and smashed it against
the wall inside our garage, piece by piece. He was out at the time.

10. Do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it?
I'm totally un-photogenic, so definitely behind it, though I'm not much good at it.

11. Have you ever gone skinny dipping?
Once, in the sea at dusk.

12. What's your greatest weakness; your greatest strength?
      Chocolate; adaptability.

13. Do you have a collection of anything?
Handbags. Not sure how many, around 40, I think.

One of my favourites

14. What is a sound you hate; sound you love?
I hate the sound of very loud music when I'm trying to sleep; the boom, boom, boom
of the bass drives me crazy. I love the sound of laughter.

15. Are you happy with the person you've become?
Pretty much. There's always room for improvement, though.

16. What's the worst place you've ever been to?
A remote part of Portugal way back in the 70s. I'm sure it's much better now.

17. Favourite band?
Roxy Music. Bryan Ferry is my all-time favourite rock star.

18. Do you drive? If so, have you ever crashed?
Yes. Crashed spectacularly two months after I got my first car. No one was injured.

19. What is the last book you read?
      Rogue Lawyer by John Grisham.

20. What's the last movie you saw?
The Hateful Eight. It was hateful!

21. What's the worst injury you've ever had?
A slipped disc. Even childbirth without drugs wasn't as painful as that.

22. What's your sexual orientation?
      Straight.

23. Ever had a rumour spread about you?
      Yes, at school.

24. Do you tend to hold grudges against people who have done you wrong?
      I forgive but I don't forget.

25. Do you save money or spend it?
      Both.

26. What was the last thing you purchased?
      Groceries.

27. How many relationships have you had?
      Anyone before Harry doesn't count.

28. Where were you yesterday?
      Mostly at home.

29. Is there anything pink within 10 feet of you?
Yes, I like pink. Is that a problem?

30. What's your favourite animal?
I have a thing about elephants but, on the domestic front, I love tabby cats.

31. What were you doing last night at 12.00 am?
      Zzzzzzzz.

32. What do you think is Satan's last name.
      Intolerance.

33. What is the single best decision you've made in your life so far?
Getting together with Harry. We disliked each other when we first met.

34. What is a saying that you say a lot?
      I can't think of anything I say a lot.

35. What is your current desktop picture?

I didn't take the photo but I was at the concert.

36. Favourite colour?
      Purple.

37. If you could press a button and make anyone in the world instantaneously explode,
      who would it be?
Too many candidates for this one.

38. You can re-live any point of time in your life. The time-span can only be a half-hour,
though. What half-hour of your life would you like to experience again?
There have been more than a million half-hours in my life. I can't possibly choose
       just one.

39. You can erase any horrible experience from your past. What will it be?
Sitting at Harry's bedside for a week, not knowing whether he would live or die.

40. You have the opportunity to sleep with the music celebrity of your choice. Who would
       it be?
Bryan Ferry still does it for me. I met him at a reception a couple of years ago and
have had his arm around my shoulders. I think that's as far as I'd like to go, though.

41. Have you ever thrown up in a car?
      Sadly, yes, many years ago.

42. In your opinion, what makes a great relationship?
Truth, trust and lots of laughter.

43. What's a song that always makes you happy when you hear it?
Young Girl, I'll always love it.

44. You are at the doctor's office and she has just informed you that you have
approximately one month to live. a) Do you tell anyone/everyone you are going
to die? b) What do you do with your remaining days? c) Would you be afraid?
      a) I'd tell everyone who matters.
      b) Spend as much time as possible with the people I love.
      c) I don't know.

45. Do you prefer talking on the phone or video chatting online?
My two daughters live a long way from me, one of them on a different continent, so
       I'm grateful for FaceTime.

46. What is the meaning of life?
42, according to The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

47. What would you want to be written on your tombstone?
I won't have one; I've left instructions that my body be cremated.

48. Do you have any nicknames?
      Not now.

49. Do you have any obsessions right now?
I don't think I've ever been obsessive about anything; passionate but not obsessive.

50. If the whole world were listening to you right now, what would you say?
That the world needs more tolerance; no race or creed is supreme. It's a well-worn
phrase but - give peace a chance.

The 'P' Word

Thanks to all of you who commented on my previous post. I hope you will forgive me for not responding to each of you individually.

I have had the disc problem for about twenty years and generally manage it very well. I really don't know what came over me when I wrestled with the offending plant; I can only plead temporary insanity. The pain was terrible for a while but a combination of pain killers and gentle exercise took the raw edges off within a few hours. A week later, I still have some residual discomfort but am slowly getting back to normal. Many thanks for your good wishes.

Harry's decision to punish was borne out of concern for my wellbeing, as he waited for me to regain consciousness following my faint - the cause of which was entirely due to my own carelessness. Had he been able to spank me within a day or two, I have no doubt that it would have been a barn-burner. After nearly a week, however, he felt that too much time had gone by for a punishment spanking to be meaningful. Instead, I had a well-reddened bottom from a reset on Sunday morning.

That doesn't mean the predictions of a shift in our dynamic were wrong. The p-word has entered the Joneses' ttwd lexicon and it can only be a matter of time before Rosie's are very red indeed.

You can put that in your blog!

Harry is not very happy with me. Monday was a Bank Holiday and we were looking forward to the extra day off. It started well, a bit of a lie-in followed by a leisurely breakfast, then pottering about until lunch time. After lunch, we planned to do some work in the garden before going on to our favourite afternoon activity...

I've neglected the garden this year but it seems to have got along nicely without me. Most of my plants are in containers and just needed watering and weeding. I had nearly finished a small patio area, when I spotted a weed growing up between the slats of the wooden bench from the border behind. Several feet of it came snaking up through the seat as I pulled on it, though it still remained firmly in the ground. Foolishly, I gave it a good tug and an excruciating pain shot up my back.

I couldn't move and Harry was nowhere to be seen. He came running when he heard me hollering and, half carrying me, managed to get me into the house and flat on the floor before I passed out. Harry knows the drill, we've been there before, though not for a while. I have a long-standing disc problem that gives me little trouble as long as I take care. Even before we started ttwd, I had a list of rules designed to keep my back pain-free. Not weeding in the borders is one of them.

Once I was settled, Harry went to clear up outside, returning with a face like thunder. He reminded me that, firstly, weeding the borders is his job, not mine. Secondly, what I had been tugging on was a sucker from a tree, not a weed. He said he'd like to spank me there and then but, obviously, I'd have to wait for my punishment. I must have looked shocked because he said, "Yes, I did say punishment, you can put that in your blog."

I'm still waiting but not for much longer. I've been diligent with my remedial exercises and should be fit again in a couple of days. Maybe Harry will remember that punishment doesn't figure in our version of ttwd. Wish me luck.

Rosie

BTW, Lindy from DOWNUNDER DREAMING is suffering from back pain at the moment, through no fault of her own. If you haven't already done so, please send her some positive thoughts, she could really do with them.

Young Girl

Ella wrote a post a while back about the music of her life. She invited her readers to share a love song that speaks to them. I chose "Young Girl" by Gary Puckett and The Union Gap, though it's not exactly a love song.

I love the song for itself but it also reminds me of a bittersweet time in my life. It's said that we always remember our first love. I have many reasons for remembering mine, not the least of which is that he gave me the only punishment spanking I have ever had.

From the age of about seven, I spent a lot of time with my aunt Alice and her wonderful husband, Richard. They weren't blessed with children of their own, so they used to 'borrow' me.

Soon after I turned fifteen, Alice became concerned that I had no permanent boyfriend, unlike most of my friends. Fifteen seems so young to be in a settled relationship nowadays but, back then, it was far from unusual. I had no shortage of casual dates but my aunt was on a mission to get me hooked up and 'going steady.' One Saturday evening she and Richard took me to their club. There was a band playing and Alice asked me what I thought of the drummer. Well, for a start, he was wearing a tux. He was also good-looking, so what else could I say except that he looked very dishy? When the interval came, he stopped at our table on his way to the bar. I learned that his name was Stuart and he lived a few doors down from Alice and Richard.

Two weeks later, I was spending the weekend with Alice and Richard again. On the Sunday morning Richard went to visit his parents, who lived a few miles away. Alice had run out of cigarettes, so we took a walk to the corner shop to buy some more. On our return, she discovered she'd locked us out. After a minute or two, we noticed the bathroom window had been left open a crack and she decided to ask a neighbour to get in via a ladder. You can probably guess where this was going. She returned with Stuart in tow and he duly climbed up into the bathroom, saving the day. Alice invited him to stay for coffee, which she took her time making, leaving the two of us together. She was thrilled to hear that he had asked me out to the cinema.

He was a student teacher but earned enough from playing in the band to run a car. My mother was very dubious about that - you know what trouble girls can get into on the back seats of cars. He won her over by arriving early so he could introduce himself properly and asking what time I should be back home. In the cinema, he did the classic thing of putting his arm across the back of my seat, casually moving it until it was around my shoulders. He arranged another date and asked permission before kissing me goodnight. I was smitten.

Alice got her wish; we were soon going steady. There was one very big fly in the ointment though, and that was the age gap. Four years isn't significant in one's twenties and beyond but the difference between fifteen and nineteen was another matter. Stuart was sexually experienced and I was quite the opposite. I don't remember the 'bases' now but I probably hadn't passed the first one. Stuart was an expert kisser but I wouldn't let him go further than that. Sometimes, when we were kissing, I would put my hands up the back of his shirt and play his spine like a musical instrument. He warned me not to tease. I never really meant to but it's a heady feeling when you first realise your sexual power isn't it?

One Sunday, we were at his home, feeling happy and mellow after a lovely evening out. I was sitting on his lap, with Steve Winwood's version of "When a man loves a woman" playing on the Dansette. He began kissing me in that way that made me melt and, for once, I didn't stop him when he started fondling me, even when his hand went under my jumper. It wasn't until his hand strayed in the direction of my knicker elastic that I panicked and pushed him away. In no time flat, he had me across his knee, raining down hard spanks on my bottom. I don't know how many, probably only about a dozen, but he was angry and it really hurt. When he stopped, I slid off his lap onto the floor in a sobbing heap. I told him I was sorry, I hadn't meant to tease; I just got carried away in the moment. Your mum and your gran tell you that boys are only after one thing and that "nice girls don't" but they don't tell you how good it feels or, at least, mine didn't. Stuart picked me up and held me, stroking my hair and wiping my tears away. He said I was a baby where sex was concerned and he wasn't going to touch me again until I was old enough.

He had already asked me to marry him. My dad agreed that we could get engaged on my sixteenth birthday and marry when I turned eighteen. A couple of months or so before my birthday, we were discussing what kind of ring I'd like and whether we should have a party, when he suddenly squeezed me tight and told me he was really looking forward to being able to love me properly. I reminded him gently that that wasn't going to happen until our wedding night.

He tried, he really did, but the strain became too much and we parted before my birthday came around.

I've played the song hundreds of times without giving the past a thought but, just once in a blue moon, when I hear Gary Puckett singing,

"Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run girl
You're much too young girl"

I think of Stuart. Always fondly but never with regret. We were never meant to be because Harry is The One for me; I know that with every fibre of my being.

Rosie

Footnote: Not long after the break-up, Alice discovered that she was pregnant, after nine years of marriage. Despite having my baby godson to divert her attention, she maintained a close interest in my love life right up until I had Harry's ring on my finger. She's 78 now and hasn't changed a bit.

Chilling Out

Work had been crazy busy and Harry decided we needed a chill-out break somewhere warm. He chose an island in the Mediterranean. This is the view from our balcony:

I took a bit of Blogland away with me:

Here, I'm lounging on the balcony, reading naughty Ronnie's Diary Volume 2

...and Sunny's Finding Love at the Trail's End, by the pool.

But there was no pool bar, Ella! No one to bring me something pretty to drink, with a pink umbrella in it.  I made up for it with several of these during our stay, though - it's my new favourite cocktail, an Aperol Spritz invented by the Italians.

I also had quite a lot of delicious ice cream.

And who could resist this?

I chose strawberry cheesecake.

We did eat proper mains in between the goodies and I'm sure it's those that caused my weight gain because treats on holiday are calorie free aren't they? The reckoning with the scales came the day after we got back.

Eek! I think it's broken.

There was a quick spanking at the hotel at the beginning of the week and a few swats along the way, but it's difficult when other people are about. By the end of the week Harry had a very itchy palm and was uttering dark comments along the lines of "Wait till I get you home," accompanied by the spanking gesture with his hand. It was no surprise, then, that I also had a reckoning with this:

So Rosie's were red for a while but not as red as these pretty souvenirs of our trip.

Rosie

Thanks, H.
